What is it?
The bigpar3™ is the World’s Largest Closest to the Flagstick Contest™, an event that will take place on Chicago area golf courses on August 21, 2010.
The object of the contest is to hit one’s tee shot on a specified par 3 golf hole and measure the distance to the flagstick of the ball once it comes to rest. The distance is recorded with the golfer’s name and contact information. At the end of the particular day, after all the participants have played the specified hole, the golfer that has hit their ball closest to the flagstick is deemed the champion.
When is it?
On August 21, 2010 participating golf courses will set one par 3 golf hole to a specified distance (150 yards for men, 120 yards for women and juniors) and each golfer that plays a round that day will be invited to participate in this historic event. Each shot will be recorded and tabulated and at the conclusion of the day, champions of the bigpar3™ will be announced. Prizes will be awarded based upon (age, sex and club/course affiliation). In addition, one golf course/club will be crowned Champion determined by a collective group score of their best shots.
Furthermore, the bigpar3™will submit to the Guinness Book of World Records the statistics of the event to establish the World’s Largest Closest to the Flagstick Contest™.

Participants will be asked to donate $10 to the ITF to help continue its mission.
